Branson needs a new home!

I’m looking for a good home for Branson he is a Maltese he’s 1 ½.  He was born on June 23, 2008.  He’s very lovable, playful he loves to cuddle and loves to take long walks.  He is pad training, but sometimes he will have an accident here and there especially when he gets very excited.  He’s neutered and has all his current shots.  It’s very hard for me to keep him since I have fibromyalgia and there are times that I cannot play or take him for long walks.  I just want to find a very good home for him.  Some where that he will be spoiled and get all the attention he needs.

If you are interested please feel free to contact me, Martina, at (909) 709-2099.

Regards,

Martina Ibarra

Adoption Opportunity:

4 month old Standard Poodle, black, male. Needs a loving home. No adoption fee, only a contract to neuter him at 6 months and he must be groomed here at Scrubby on a regular basis. Yvonne is willing to offer a discount on his grooming as he is a standard poodle. Yikes. Loveable and he's very used to grooming already. Call Yvonne for info: (909) 247-9740.

Subject: *Amazing Dog rescued from Evil Child*

   Hi Everybody!!!

Nice to meet you!! My name is Charlie, and my foster mom says that I am one AMAZING DOG!!!

Here’s my story: My foster mom was driving along one day about a month ago when she saw an evil little child throwing rocks at something, and that something happened to be ME! She thankfully pulled over and promptly yelled at the little kid and swept me off my feet (which I was all too happy about!) To top it all off, I was COVERED in fleas and suffering from a really bad case of Flea Allergy Dermatitis….I barely had ANY fur on my lower back, booty, and tail, and BOY did I itch! It took several weeks of antibiotics, some really soothing baths, and some magic steroids to get me in tip-top shape.

Now, I’m on flea prevention, heartworm tested, vaccinated and will be chillin’ at Banfield on campus awaiting the removal of my pesky testicles until Wednesday. The good news for you, is that I am officially ready to get my VERY OWN HOME, which could be YOURS!!!!  I am really easy going and get along with everyone- all kinds of people, dogs, and even cats! I’m probably around five years old and would really love a second chance at life. Have you been waiting your whole life for me?...because I sure have been waiting for YOU!

If you’d like to meet me, please let my foster mom know by responding to this email.  jstonequist@westernu.edu

If you know of anyone who could use a friend like me, please forward this email. I’d really like to have my own family, and can’t wait to meet everyone!

Thanks, and see you soon!!!

- Charlie

Subject: Sweet Dog needs a foster home for 2 weeks (or a forever home)

Olive, a sweet ~1.5year old pit bull mix, was found roaming the Pomona streets early this week.  The fine folks (students, techs and doctors) at Banfield with the financial support of the adoption group Priceless Pets have been taking great care of her.  But, Priceless Pets is out of foster homes and she needs someone to take care of her for about 2 weeks until she can come in for a recheck and potentially a spay surgery.

She has never had an accident in her crate, she is very easy to handle, and is super sweet.  She would do best in a situation where her skin condition had a chance to heal without her being around other dogs (she's potentially contagious).

Please Please Please - Let me know if you can pick her up tonight to keep her for a week or 2.  I will be at Banfield today if you'd like to stop by, shoot me an email, or give a call.  Thanks.

Sylvester the Cat needs a new home...

Hi Everyone, we could REALLY use your help. We have a black and white Manx (cat), Sylvester. He adopted us--he was rolling around in the grass playing with Toby (our dog) when we first discovered him. He was on our patio for days until we took him in. He had been fixed and had his front claws removed. Since he can't defend himself we won't just put him outside. The vet estimated his age, so now we think he is around 4 years old. Manx are more like dogs, he follows you around and comes when you call him. He is the most lovable cat we have ever known. When we have anyone visit he jumps on their laps and starts purring. He loves to be on our laps and to be loved and petted. He plays well with dogs--Toby and him run around the house together. There is one picture below where he and Toby are laying together and Toby has his paw over him. Sylvester lays beside Toby and licks Toby's paw, it's really cute. He would be a great companion for someone that could give him the attention he loves.

Our problem is we really need to find a home for him. Our daughter-in-law, Tammy and our granddaughter, Karley are very allergic to cats.  Tammy was here less than 5 min. the other night and was sneezing her head off, and Karley has runny eyes and nose--it really makes me sad for them. We lock him in the bathroom, but it really doesn't help and he hates it. If you or someone you know would want him, please let us know. We really want him to have a good home. Please pass this e-mail on to your friends, the sooner we find a home for him the better. Thank you so much, love Vicki

Interested in providing a temporary foster home for Otis?

Otis’ stats:

1 year old neutered male Rat Terrier / Chihuahua mix

Otis’ story:

Otis was one of my patients at my emergency externship a couple months ago.  His owner brought him in for non-weight bearing lameness and radiographs revealed a closed left radial Salter Harris fracture type 2 and a left ulnar Salter Harris fracture type 1.  The owner could barely afford the radiographs and could definitely not afford conservative (splinting with numerous rechecks and splint changes) or surgical management.  I offered to try to help the owner by finding a rescue group to take the dog or by trying to find a non-profit agency willing to help fund his medical bills.  The owner was not interested in either option and was leaning towards euthanasia.  I could not bear to euthanize such a brave little dog with a sweet and gentle demeanor and instead had the owner relinquish him to me.

We administered pain meds, reduced the fracture and applied a splint & I gave up my few sleeping hours to drive Otis to WU in search of a foster home and continued care.  Luckily, I found both: a wonderful foster home and excellent care with the WU Banfield team.  His foster parent has been doing an excellent job of bringing him in for his rechecks and keeping him confined in his crate so his fractures can heal.  Sadly, his foster parent cannot keep him through the summer due to traveling plans and we need to find a new temporary foster home for him.

My living situation is less than ideal for Otis – I will be busy with my new job and live in an apartment where I am supposed to have 1 cat but instead have 7 cats (3 fosters in crates) and a husband whose patience is wearing thin!

I have no doubt it will be easy to find an excellent home for Otis but, I do not want to advertise him for adoption until his leg is healed.

If you are interested in fostering Otis please let me know

Male kitty needs home

Hello friends,

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I must find my kitty a new home.  His name is Sammy, short for Sambo. He is male, fixed, declawed (front), housebroken, box trained, very sweet and calm.  He is good with dogs and cats.  He is an indoor kitty but uses the catdoor to play in the backyard (I have a condo with an enclosed backyard).   He is current on all shots.  Sammy is all black, short hair with big yellow eyes and is about 2 years old.  When you come home, he rolls around on the ground and rubs on your legs and when you pick him up he puts his head on your shoulder and just loves to be held. He loves to chase laser lights.  Shy at first with strangers, but eventually comes out of hiding (like most cats).  I think he will be fine with children once he figures them out (I don't have children), when my niece/nephews visit he is fine with them.  Doesn't bite, purrs loud!

He is free to a good home!  This breaks my heart!!  Please help me find a home for Sammy.

Please call me if you could give him a loving home.

Homeless pup needs home...

Hi my friends...

Well I have found another little homeless doggie and need your help, I am currently fostering him because we have no more room for more dogs. I found this this little guy running the streets of Upland, he was a tough one to catch but thank God I did, he has been very neglected (skin and bones) poor little guy. He is about two years old, sweet as can be, he loves other dogs and children. I am guessing he is Chihuahua - Terrier mix. He is going to be neutered in a couple of weeks and will have had all his shots, de-wormed, and check up,  his adoption fee will be $150.00 and all medical records will come with him. This fee helps cover some of the cost that our rescue group has put into him by the time he is adopted.

Please if you could forward this info to your friends and family, as they might know someone that might be interested in this adorable sweet boy.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
